Welcome to the Resin Driveway Co. website.
As a Son and Father business we have specialised in the installation of driveways and dropped kerbs for 24 years, a combined 36 years, covering Devon Cornwall and Somerset.
Around 12 years ago we researched offering resin as one of our products and we decided to let resin surfacing prove it's self for a while before jumping into it. The formulas has been constantly improved and developed since then and it is now a very reliable and durable surface with much more choice in colour than other driveway and pathway surfacing materials. Through allowing the material to become proven before we started offering it, we now confidently offer our customers a surface that we know is a reliable one.
Another reason resin is a great choice of material to use is that is it has a porous structure, meaning you don't have to have extra drainage piping and soakaways put in place like you would with other surface types. In October 2008 the SUDS law came into play, stating that all new driveway surfaces have to retain surface run off water inside your property boundary through means of drainage channels and soakaways. With Resin Surfacing, surface water dissipates down through the surface, through the base layer and away into the ground.
Resin Driveway Co. is thoroughly trained, certificated and insured for the the groundworks and installation of resin surfacing.
Many firms who offer resin surfacing do not carry out the groundworks and preparation required to then install the resin surface. We own all of the tools and plant machinery required to dig out existing lawns or surfaces, deliver the correct grades of hardcore, thoroughly compact using our own machinery and build back up to surface level. By being able to offer the full service carried out by ourselves, you can feel comfortable knowing we don't sub contract anybody else to carry out any part of the work, or hire in sub standard or wrongly suited plant equipment. This includes laying the porous tarmac base layer which the resin sits on top of. We have installed hundreds of tarmac driveways and dropped kerbs over the years and achieve a very smooth texture and even shape. This in house skill allows us to lay a perfectly shaped and even depth of base coat ready for the resin to lay upon. By digging out to an even shape, building the stone base and tarmac base all to a mm checked depth all the way through, that is how to achieve a really nice final shape to the top resin surface. We have always been passionate about getting the surface looking as even as possible in shape and texture, whatever material we are using.
Every week we see driveways being build by other contractors using badly chosen materials which we know will not provide longevity to the surface being built. Since we also offer haulage of aggregates and materials as a secondary service to our driveways and surfacing, we are able to buy all the best materials directly from the sources that supply local builders merchants and distributors. By doing this we can ensure we are not being sold something that has the right generalised name, but the wrong properties. A great example of this is when we see block paved driveways being built. To achieve a surface that will stay put and not change shape and sink, it requires sand that isn't too fine in size. Coarse sand lets water run down through and dissipate down through the stone, leaving the surface in tact. Fine sand acts like a squishy sponge and pushes up through the blocks, which is in part why you often see sunken areas on block paved driveways. Time and time again we see blocks being laid onto a large depth fine sand. We then see the same driveways a few months later, with sunken areas and spreading blocks!
Using our own 18 ton hiab grab lorry, 7.5 ton tipper truck and a transit van, allows us to efficiently transport our tools and materials to and from your job without having to rely on or wait for outside hauliers. We leaned how important it was to have out own larger vehicles back in the days when my father only had one small tipper vehicle and relied on outside hauliers which could suddenly cancel or not be available for days at a time.
Many firms will not dig out to the correct depths to allow for enough hard core to get a good structure for the resin to be laid onto. With our own grab lorry, we can ensure we dig out to the correct depth by doing as many loads as it requires.
We would love to hear from you and we know people often have questions about various parts of a driveway installation. Give us a call and we will be very happy to discuss the job you have in mind. We can discuss any technical questions or queries you may have.
